I’ve often watched my toy Yorkie Poo, Tipsy, prancing about the house relishing in the moment. She could be sprinting from the kitchen to the living room chasing her imaginary friend or squirming belly-up on her favorite bone; whatever she does, she enjoys it to the fullest.

I understand that we obviously experience life on a different level; but, observing her made me evaluate whether I am truly enjoying life. How much am I slowing down to enjoy the little things, to do something for myself or to do something that isn’t mindless (i.e. watching TV, etc)? I think it's an evaluation we would all benefit from.
We do learn how to slow down and enjoy our lives from our little furry friends. They love us unconditionally, and are always happy to see us come home. They never seem to have mood swings, and they are always there when we humans do. I love my dogs a bunch too and they enhance my life everyday.
ReplyDeleteInteresting topic, in my own little way I have been trying to slow down my pace. Seem like I was always trying to fit something into the day....impossible. I'm learning not rush everything and not to be in such a hurry. Take my time, learn to say no and live for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder that we all could benefit from appreciating the small things in life! Also, your dog is absolutely adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteTipsy is adoreable. Makes me want one.
ReplyDeleteShe is precious! Love this perspective, we all need to enjoy the everyday moments more :)
ReplyDeleteTipsy is too cut! What inspired the name? Great reflection. its important to enjoy the little moments in life. Life gets a little busy sometimes and we move at such a fast paste sometimes you need to just enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeleteIf only we had the lack of worries she probably has we would likely enjoy the small things more often:)
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to slow down my life also. I am getting to the age that all my children are growing up infront me and I need to spend every second I can with them, because in a matter of time they will be gone and off to college.
ReplyDeletea friend of mine did exactly what you did but with her cat. she hates cat and was watching her boyfriends move around the house and realized that cats are not as dumb as every one thinks. when they want to be petted they just rub on you and dont really need you to pet them
